Welcome to the TAD Website

The Thesis and Dissertation (TAD) Website project aims to build a website that Masters and Doctoral students and their supervisors can use to find advice and aids for their writing, focusing on writing theses and dissertations. The project is also working on ways to use computers to analyse postgraduate students’ writing problems.

The project, which has been running since October 2002, involves specialist partners from the Universities of Birmingham (Oliver Mason), Lancaster (Tony McEnery), Luton (Lawrence Lau, Martha Pennington, Peter Petratos, Vladimir Zegarac), and Oxford, (Ylva Berglund), the Open University (Caroline Coffin), Hillcroft College London (James Donohue), as well as Stanford University (Phil Hubbard). It addresses several areas of need in the university sector, including: effective use of computer media and the internet for teaching and learning, expansion of postgraduate study by both home and international students, and increased demand for writing support and assistance for students.

We hope you find the website, though still in development, useful and would appreciate any comments or suggestions. Feel free to email us, and be sure to fill in our online student survey.
